The weather has been really nice. We went to a cool park right by the zoo here. (The zoo, BTW, is FANTASTIC!! And it's FREE!! They have lions, tigers, and bears!! And MUCH more!)

These are Dane's chore charts. Every time he does his chores for the day he gets a quarter. He has figured money out! He saved $4.00 and bought a toy last week! What a big boy! Speaking of big boy, he learned how to write his name at pre-school!!! WHAT!?!?!

Scott is working on his bread making skills. This one was garlic/green onion. SO GOOD!

Chewy was really interested in Macy. I never let him near her. I decided to see what would happen and he just licked her hand to death!! She really liked it.

This has nothing to do with Chewy! I think she is cute when she cries. I had to take a picture. Also, she is the only baby that I have ever heard that actually says "WAH WAH" when she cries. I love it!!

This Week

Dane has finally warmed up to Chewy. Maybe a little too warm! Poor Chewy gets dragged all around the house all day long. He rarely complains. It is cute to see them together. They are best friends.

Macy is so kissable. Scott wants to kiss her all the time but it makes her cry because he is so prickly!! I think she survived this kiss though! He puckered really big!

New Years Goals

I had an idea to take a picture everyday this year and then blog every Sunday. I'm not going to call it a goal, just an idea. If I actually achieve it, then I will call it a "goal that I achieved!"
This is the first picture of the year. Mother and daughter. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this little girl. Sweet is the best word to describe her.

My other goals for the year 2012:
-No pop! This is going to be tough. Scott had a pop today and it was so hard to not have a sip, but I did it! YAY! 364 days to go!!
-Lose weight! Who doesn't have this goal!
-Run the Kansas City half marathon in April. I started training 4 weeks ago. So far so good!
-Be more out going and make lots of friends here. This includes making a friend that speaks Spanish so I can brush up on my Spanish!
-Connect more with my siblings. They are super cool, I need to talk to them more!
-Set a new record with paying off our debt. In 2011 we paid off a little over $15,000. I'll be happy if we get $16,000 this year! (We have a lot of debt! Helicopter school isn't cheap!)
-Blog more. I'm shooting for once a week.
Well, that does it!! I love new beginnings!

Christmas Day

I didn't take a lot of pictures on Christmas Day. We woke Dane up at about 7am. He didn't want to wake up until we said that Santa came! Then he JUMPED out of bed! He was so excited every time he opened a present. It was great!
I really miss being a kid, but having kids is so much fun! Maybe even better than being one.

Scott pretty much took charge of the food situation for Christmas. I have to say he did a GREAT job! This is his first turkey ever, It was perfect!

Scott really gets into the Christmas spirit. I love that he is nostalgic that way. He really wanted a warm fire and hot chocolate to make it a cozy day. He did a good job!

New Member of the Family

This year Santa brought us a new member of the family! He left it on the door step and rang the doorbell! When we answered it there was a kennel! I asked Dane what was in it and he said "A DOG!!" Then he ran inside and jumped on top of the table! It was a really cute first meeting! Everyone, meet CHEWY!

New Food

One thing that Scott and I really enjoy doing together is cooking! Trying new recipes. We have been wanting to figure out how to make tamales for a long time, but it always seemed so hard to find the right ingredients and supplies. Well, not here!! There is a tamale themed area in every grocery store! So, we (mostly Scott) gave it a go!

A few weeks ago I went outside to take out the trash and Dane came with me. We ended up staying outside for a while because it was so warm. Dane said "Mom is it summer?" It really was nice! I even saw a neighbor boy outside without a shirt on.

Today there was a big "HOO-RAA" at the hospital welcoming the life-flight service to Garden City. Scott told me to be at the hospital at 4 so I could see him land. I thought there were only going to be a few hospital executives, but when I got there I saw that there were at least a hundred people (the whole town showed up!). I could see the helicopter in the sky circling around so that he could time the landing just right. All of a sudden a bunch of "suits" came out and the helicopter started zooming in! Perfect timing!! Everyone was oohing and ahhing and clapping! It was really very impressive (The pictures don't give it justice at all!) He came in really slow and hovered a little before he landed. I was so proud! Tears were sneaking out and I had a gigantic smile on my face! I am so proud of Scott! He is the coolest!!

Our pretty princess is 2 months old!!! Where did the time go!?

Things she is doing at 2 months:

-Still pretty sleepy! She sleeps a lot! Even at night! We put her to bed at about 10 or 11 and she sleeps till about 6 most nights!

-She loves her binki! She gets stressed out when it falls out of her mouth.

-She is starting to coo a lot! I love the sound of her voice!

-She smiles all the time!

We just love her SO much! Dane is really protective of her. He gets really worried anytime she cries and he will try to find her binki or he will rub her head and say "it's ok Macy!". What a good brother!

We went to my parent's house for the celebration. They had it all decked out with Captain America stuff! What a nice surprise! Dane didn't want us to sing the Happy Birthday song, (he told me beforehand that it makes him sad. He just wanted to be 3!) We sang it anyway! He just sat there and growled! Then he very happily blew out the candle!! He never ate a piece of cake though....oh well!

As most of you know, Scott got laid off from is job in the Gulf of Mexico in September. While we were looking for other jobs for him, we were still hoping that they would call him back (they said they would when they had openings). Well fortunately just 4 months later they called back! YAY!!! When Scott originally got hired he had to drive a car down there, then when he got laid off he had to drive it back. He said it was awful! It takes 3 days to get down there, so he had to drive for 6 days by himself!! This time when they called him back we decided that I would go with him. It was a way for us to have a little vacation. My parents came and stayed with Dane while we were gone!


This picture is actually when we were leaving Utah. The Utah drive was really pretty because we had to drive through Bear Lake.

Wyoming! Wow, I thought this was a pretty boring drive, but I was wrong! The next day was really hard to get through!

I thought this was a cool picture. Looks "old west"ish.

Colorado was really cool. We ended up staying in Fort Collins. That is where we fell in love 10 years ago! We ate at the same Applebees that we did in 2001. It was so much fun!

Denver skyline! It was weird to drive through Denver. I use to live there on my mission. So did my mom. (I served in Colorado for 3 months before I went to Venezuela)

Oh Kansas. There wasn't much to look at in this state. But it was cool to set foot in a state that I have never been in before. We stopped at a rest stop that had an antique mall. It was HUGE!! We stayed for an hour looking around, we agreed that we could have spent a lot of money there. Also, Scott found me some cool hanging crystals to add to my collection. He is the best!

This is basically what we looked at for 10 hours.

I just thought that was weird!

We stopped in Dodge City to eat and look around. It was cool to see the old stomping grounds of Wyatt Earp.

Oklahoma was my least favorite state, not because it is a lame state, but because of the hotel that we stayed in and the weather while we were there. We got to our hotel in Oklahoma City at about midnight, we were SO sleepy. When we got our room we realized it was a smoking room! That wasn't really the worst part. It was in the basement and it felt like a dirty dorm room. The carpet was just laying on top of the cement and it need to be vacuumed. The toilet needed a plunger, so it had one sitting there, a gross one, and the once you started the shower it whistled loudly forever, even when you got out!! Then when we left the next day we missed a turn. I freaked out because I was the navigator and I like to follow the exact directions from Google maps. I wanted to turn around and back track. Scott is good with maps, (as everyone should be), and just kept on going in the wrong direction, (but net really), until we found the right road. Did I mention I cried!! Oh yeah, and there was lots of snow and ice! That's right! Oklahoma doesn't usually get snow. It was obvious that they didn't know how to handle it. The roads were not plowed and they were pure ice. We counted about 50 slide offs from Oklahoma City to Texas. It was crazy! We were going about 40 MPH the whole way! ARGH! It was still cool to be in a new state though.

I took a picture of the freeway because it was so different then I thought it would be. The roads were lined with these really thick forests!

A swamp! I kept looking for alligators. Scott said they out number the people 2-to-1. I never saw one.


A pretty sunset. That night we stayed in a REALLY nice hotel. I wanted to try some Cajun food, so we went to a local restaurant and I had some craw-fish and etouffee. It was really good!! The next morning I flew home!!

Three Zero

I am 30! YAY! I am excited for this new decade! Scott threw me a really great party with a whole bunch of family. It was the perfect day. I felt special!! This is Dane playin with all the balloons.

My sister (in-law, but whatev!) made the most beautiful stuff! Not to mention, kick-you-in-the-head tasty! Those chocolate cupcakes are straight from heaven!

Fondue!! Who doesn't love fondue?! I also learned that there is no need to peel a kiwi! The skin is perfectly edible! Like an apple! Yummy!

Christmas

This year Christmas was a lot of fun. It is the first year that Dane understood Santa Claus.
On Christmas Eve we tried to get him all excited about Santa coming in the night. Dane said that he didn't want Santa to come because he is scary. It probably didn't help that a few days earlier Dane wouldn't clean up a mess that he had made and Scott told him that if he didn't Santa was going to bite his toes while he was sleeping! Needless to say, Dane cleaned up his mess, but now is terrified of Santa. Thanks to dad! Kids believe everything.
We tried to wake him up early, but he didn't want to wake up. We tried for about 5 minutes, but it wasn't until we opened his bedroom door and said "Look at all the toys!!!" that he got up. He was excited. He got just what he wanted! Isn't Santa smart!

Winter Fun

One thing that we weren't looking forward to about moving back to Cache Valley were the winters. We had two warm winters in St. George and then Hawaii. We were getting used to the heat. But we have actually been having a GREAT winter! It has been snowing so much and there is nothing more beautiful than a valley covered in snow, and nothing more fun than a bouncy 3 year old that wants to experience it. Having kids is so much fun, it makes us boring adults act like kids again, something I think is so important for our well being.

Last night for family home evening we did something that I have never done in my life. Ice skating!! I was terrified. I have been roller skating, but that was years ago, and only once. We didn't get any pictures, but we are going to go again, so stay tuned.
I am married to a multi-talented man. He can't even help it. He put on those ice skates and turned into Scott Hamilton! WHA.....?! Hi zipped around the rink like he had done it a million times before!
How did I do you ask? Well, I am happy to say that I didn't fall!! It took me about 15 years to go around one time. Scott would come by and hold my hand and I could go a little faster, but not for long! I would start to get scared.
We got Dane some skates that were absolutely adorable, but he couldn't stand up in them. We decided to let him walk around on the ice with his shoes. He had a great time.

We also went sledding. It was a lot of fun! We tried to take Dane last year, but he was too scared. This year he all for it!! He looks so dane (cute, I know!) in all his winter gear!
Yes, those are socks on his hands!

Farewell 2010

One of my new years goals is to update my blog more often then I did last year. It won't be hard. I didn't want to blog anymore in 2010, because at some point I was too bitter about how the year turned out and didn't trust myself to blog, I didn't want to vent.

Alas, it is a New Year and Scott and I couldn't be more pleased. New opportunities, attitudes, and motivation came with the new year. We are determined to have a GREAT year. So far, so good.
However, I must admit that with all trails come great blessings. I will give 2010 credit for humbling our little family into a mess that is grateful to be alive, to have each other, and to learn how much we are loved by others, while weeding out a few, well, weeds! We are so blessed to be closer to our families in the place that we love more than any other place on earth. It is good to be home, even if it isn't forever.

Stay tuned for all the new adventures that we are going to have this year....The year of the Jorgensens!!

An Italian and a Turtle

The Glass Beach

Our neighbors were telling us about some of the cool free stuff to do on the island. They told us about the Glass Beach. Apparently back in the day, they used to dump garbage at this beach. In the garbage was a lot of glass bottles. Over time the whole beach turned into glass!! It was really cool!!

Side note- Our neighbors are from Tennessee and they have that great southern accent. One day Dave (the Tennessean) was helping Scott put together his grill. After about 30 minutes Scott was speaking with a southern accent!! It was hilarious! Also, the other day they brought us some cheesy grits! Yummy!

Kirk the Painter

The sign on the building at Scott's work needed a little love. Since Kirk is a painter, and he got to go on a helicopter ride (that he loved!), he thought he would pay for the ride with a little home improvement.
Dane and I hung around and watched him work. It looks great!!

CRAZY Rain Storm

We live on the dry side of the island. It is weird that there is a dry side since the rainiest/wettest spot on earth is on Kauai. We get about 15 inches of rain a year compared to Mt. Wai'ale'ale that gets 500 inches a year and is only about 20 minutes away. Crazy!
Anyway, the other day I was just chillin at home and all of a sudden I heard this really loud noise! It scared me to death!! It was the rain!! It all came at once! I ran out an took these pictures. It was this wet only after about 10 seconds!! I thought it was crazy!

Boat Ride with Captin Kirk!

Scott set up this awesome boat ride for us to go on! We were a little nervous about how Dane would like it, but he did great!!
It was a 6 hour ride to the west side of the island, called the Na'pali Coast. It was beautiful!! They served us a little breakfast and a great lunch. They also stopped for about an hour and let us all go snorkeling!! A first for me! It was awesome!!

#1 Right when we boarded the ship. Dane looks happy there, but a few minutes later we had to put his life jacket on. He threw the biggest fit!!

#2 & #3- About 20 minutes into the ride we spotted some dolphins!! There were about 200! They were amazing!! They swam right up to the boat and played. They did tricks and everything!! I LOVED it!

#9, 10, &11- This is when all 3 of the boys started to get sea sick! Scott had it the worst. He was GREEN and he wouldn't let us talk to him. Poor guys. Dane slept through most of his sickness (about 3 hours) and Kirk tried to ignore his sickness.

#13- Dane saw a "pirate ship". He kelp saying "wook pirates!!" So cute!!

#14- This guy had the worst sickness. He was slumped over for most of the trip. He threw up about 4 times! Poor guy!

Easter and Randomness

We had our first holiday in Hawaii!! Easter morning we went to the park a few blocks from our house to the Easter egg hunt.
When we got there we realized we forgot to buy an Easter egg basket! So we used the camera case! Lame.
When it was time to get the eggs Dane and I ran out there to start picking them up. He got 3 when he eyeballed the perfect blue egg! He started to run for it, but another kid got to it before he did. And that was the end of the race for us. Dane fell on the ground and refused to get anymore eggs! A nice lady even tried to pick him, but he wouldn't have it!!
It was fun anyway. I thought it was interesting because all the eggs were boiled! No candy for the kids!!

In Kauai, if you take your trash to the dump, but you think someone might want something that you are throwing away, you put those items NEXT to the dump. So Scott was at the dump when he saw Dane's "motorcycle". Scott brought it home and right away Dane said "Wook!!! A green motocycle!" He has loved it ever since!! I guess one man's trash is really another man's treasure!!

Animals And Waterfalls

This week was eventful!
(For this first "event" I don't have a picture.)
Dane and I were walking home from the post office, which is about 3 blocks away. But we were in the mood to linger, so we took a longer route home. I think I was looking down at my phone when Dane said "Wook mama! A doggie!" I looked up at the dog, it was about half a block away. It looked weird to me. A short, fat, big dog. When my eyes really focused I realized I was looking at a wild boar!!! Once I figured that out, it charged at a bunch of dogs that were barking at it!! Needless to say, after a moment the dogs stopped barking!! I was terrified!! I picked up Dane and started to run! I was looking for a place to hide if it came at me. There were a lot of trucks that were parked, I was going to jump into one of them! I called Scott and my mom and told them what I saw. Scott wasn't really sure that I had in fact, seen a wild boar, it was probably a dog. So, I started to question myself. I told him to ask the locals that he works with if it was possible that I had seen a boar. My mom told me to call the police. I didn't. I went home and googled "Hawaiian Boars". It was confirmed. I really did see one! Scott confirmed with the locals that I saw one. Apparently it isn't that uncommon. Yes, they are dangerous if they are scared. But they don't have good eye sight in the light of day. That night Scott came home and wanted to play tennis. I saw the boar right by the tennis courts!! We are all safe!!

Event #3 (the remainder of the pictures)
Scott finally had a day off!! So we went exploring! There is a waterfall that we wanted to see, so we packed up and went!! We had to hike down to the falls. It made me a little nervous because it was a steep trail and it wasn't smooth and we had Dane with us. So I made Scott carry him. He did a great job. It took us about 40 minutes to hike down and we had to cross the river twice. (I had my big nice camera with me! I was SO scared that I was going to fall and ruin it!) Once we got there it was worth it!! We will be going back to that one!
We took a different trail back up. It was about an 8 minute hike, but it was STRAIGHT UP!! It was slippery and there were ropes everywhere to help. There were also a massive amount of tree roots that helped a ton! Dane did SUCH a good job!! He loved it! He was singing the whole way up the trial. So cute!! I think we have a hiker!
It was a great day!!

Week #2

Well, I know that I haven't been posting everyday, but life started to get pretty routine! And although a routine life is a good thing, it turns out that is can make a pretty boring blog!
So, I think I will at least post every week.
Week 2 was cool!!
Scott's jeep broke down, but he fixed it! I was so proud of him. We hung out with Scott's bosses a few times, that was fun, they gave me a car to drive around so I don't feel so trapped. That was SO SO nice of them.
But the BEST part of week 2 was the helicopter ride that I got to go on!! It was one of the coolest things I have EVER done!! I took about 300 pictures!! It was 1 hour, and we flew with the doors off, (Scott's company is the only one on the island that does that!), and it wasn't scary AT ALL!! It was beautiful! Just see for yourself. The first picture is of me with my life jacket on about to get in the helicopter. The last picture was when I came back!

Day #6 In Paradise

Day 6:
I'll just start with the pictures.
#1-This is Scott's sweet work shirt. He looks really handsome and professional.
#2-Dane and I went to the beach today. I was carrying Dane across the rocks, but I couldn't feel very well because of my flip-flops. I didn't want to lose my balance and drop Dane, so I wanted to take off my flops and throw them on the beach, and cross the rocks in bare feet. I took my first flop off and, of course, it feel between the rocks. They were brand new flops!! $45.00. The most I have ever spent on flip-flops was $12.00.
I could see it between some rocks, and it was in a place that I knew I would remember. So I was planning on going back the next day to try to fish it out. Then it occured to me that the tide was probably going to rise high enough to get it and maybe move it. So when Scott got home, he fashioned a "flip-flop removal device" and we went to fish it out. It was dark out side and I tripped over a rock, thus the ouchie in picture #2. But, the right shoe is now reunited with the left!!Scott is my hero!

Day #5 In Paradise

Day 5:
Today was sad!! Dane was feeling pretty good when he woke up, but around noon he climbed up on me and feel right asleep. That never happens!! When he woke up from his nap he was so sad. He just laid on my lap and kind of moaned. That lasted until 6am this morning!! At one point he said "Hurt, mama please help!" It brought tears to my eyes!! He has an ear infection. But I think he feels a lot better this morning!

Day 4:
Wasn't too eventful. In fact both Dane and I have wicked colds! We didn't feel like going anywhere.
Scott brought his bosses by our place so they could see it. It was nice to visit with them.

Day 3:
Scott went to work today and Dane and I had to figure out what to do without him. So, of course, we went to the beach. But first we stopped at the park that is a few blocks away, and on the way to the beach. All of the pictures that I took today were on our walk to the beach.

Day #2 In Paradise

So, I have a goal to take at least one picture everyday that we live here...lets see if I actually do it!!
Day 2:
We went shopping for food and other essentials. But first, I had to go to the beach again!!! This time Scott got in all the way and fought with the waves!! I tried it too, but I was too scared to go too far!! One of the wave lifted me off my feet and sent me flying 5 feet!
Then we came home and had a family nap!! It was nice.
Then off to Costco and Kmart a few towns away! About 30 minutes.

#2 SPAM...yes, SPAM. I haven't had it yet, but Scott already loves it. He bought turkey Spam for me cause he thought it would be more healthy.
#3 I have discovered that if I want to keep my hair in-tact, I have to wear this hat whenever we got anywhere in the jeep, otherwise it will take me an hour to comb through it and it will all break off...BUT I like the hat!!
You can't really see, but Scott bought me the earrings that I am wearing because they have wave designs on them and I liked the waves so much!! What a sweetheart!!

Day #1 in Paradise!

Let me just first start by saying that
Scott did SUCH a great job at finding us a place to live!! It is perfect for so many reasons!! First off, Location, it is a five minute walk to the beach, we live with the locals, so not a lot of tourism, we live 2 blocks from our church.
Second, we got such a good deal for what we got! We have three bedrooms, not only is it furnished, but it is FURNISHED! We have bedding, towels, dishes, cleaning supplies, cable, internet, washer and dryer, all utilities are included. It is very clean and it already feels like home. It is cute!!

#5 In the distance you can see another island. It is called "The Forbidden Island" You have to get permission from the Robinson family to go there. They bought the island in the 1800s for $10,000 and a grand piano. There are 200 natives there and they live the "old Hawaiian Way" Which means they don't have any modern conveniences. Occasionally there is a little cruise that goes over there, our landlord has the hookup!! We are going! Some day!

Dane didn't like the ocean! I think it was too loud! He kept running toward the rocks to go home. When we would go get him he would say "No like it!!" But when he sees the ocean he says "Oh OCEAN!! Beautiful!" Later Scott took us to the airport that he works. I got to see the helicopters, and they are beautiful, and his little office rocks! The company basically has the whole airport to themselves!! It was really cool!
The first day was awsome! I didn't get pictures, but Scott took me out to dinner and I ate the best food I have had in a long time!! The chips and salsa where the best I have EVER had!! And I got a pesto mushroom and goat cheese pizza on flat bread...SO. GOOD!!! And it was FREE!! Scott's job has a lot of perks!! I'm really happy!!

Travel Overview

We made it!! I have to admit, with all the reasons I had to be nervous to move to Hawaii, the thing that made me most nervous was the fact that I was going to have to travel with a 2 year old for 12 hours...But we did it and we are still best buds!!
My parents drove me to the airport and my brother and his family came to say goodbye. That was so nice!! I wanted them to stay as long as possible. And they stayed until I had to board!
Luckily I got on the first plane right away and Dane did a good job going where I told him too! He was wearing his monkey backpack that serves as a leash. I was carrying his car seat and two very heavy carry-ons. Once the plane took off I started to get nervous because Dane started kicking the seat in front of him. So I apologized to the guy that he was kicking and he was very nice and saif "I have 5 kids! I'm used to it."
We landed in Boise, but I stayed on the same plane, Dane started to get a little grumpy. When I was at the airport with my family my sister-in-law Adrienne bought Dane a coloring book and crayons, they saved my life!!! He colored for the next two hours while we flew to Seattle.
We had a 3 1/2 hour layover in Seattle that I was dreading! Anyone that knows Dane knows that he will not sit still!! Once we got there he started dragging me all over the airport, it was so difficult because I had to carry around that dang carseat everywhere we went!! ARGH!! Finally, after 2 hours he settled down and started coloring again! (Thanks Adrienne!)
Right when I started thinking "I am not looking forward to the 4 hour flight that we have ahead of us" Scott called and said it was 6 hours, not 4!!!
At this point half of our travel day is over with and I am thinking, "ok, this isn't too bad", then the nightmare began!!!
We boarded the plane and happen to sit behind a grumpy guy that kept clearing his throat and looking back at me every time Dane kicked his seat or made a loud noise!! Not to mention, Dane was tired and grumpy and very hard to please at this point.
So the first 4 hours of the flight was a nightmare!! But finally he fell asleep for the last 2 hours!!
When we landed in Hawaii I was SO ready to see Scott!! We went to the baggage claim area and waited for him, when I saw him he started running toward us jumping up and down!! It was so nice to have such a happy welcome! When Dane saw him, he just leaned into his legs, it was so cute!!
We drove home, but I couldn't see anything because it was dark. When we got home I fell into bed and slept the hardest I have slept in a long time!!

Midnight 5k & Falls

I ran a midnight 5k. I'm glad it was at midnight, cause it was about 85 degrees. Scott was keeping me happy by slammin waters and making me laugh. People that lived in the neighborhood were spraying us with water! It was fun!

We took a trip to Toqerville Falls. It is a cool place about 45 mins away. It was really fun! We went in the jeep and it was an adventure to get there! We were the only ones there! It was a lot of fun!

My really good friend Dianna invited me to stay with her for a few days! We had so much fun! We went to Seven Peaks and the petting zoo at Thanksgiving Point!!

Dane had his first pony ride!! He was terrified!! But it only lasted for about 2 mins! I was glad that he did it!

Dane's favorite thing in the whole world is tractors!!! We figure he says the word tractor at least 200 times a day. So we bought him a couple tractors for his birthday. They were a hit!! Still are!!

We decided that we didn't want cake and Dane loves cookies, (he calls them tookies)...he loved them!

I buzzed both of my best guy's hair!! They are so handsome! Don't they look alike!!

I was looking through all of my pictures that I have taken over the summer and realized I have done a lot that I haven't blogged about!! Shame on me!!! Two of the coolest things that I did were the Top of Utah Half Marathon with my dad, and the Las Vegas Ragnar relay! I love running!!
Below is a picture of my team (half of my team) at the Ragnar Relay and a picture of me and my dad crossing the finish line at the Top of Utah.

We ran 171 miles in 26 hours!! We ROCK!!

Our team got a flat tire!!!! About 10 hours later our other team got a flat tire too!! WHAT!!??

Our little baby is a little boy! We have been so blessed to have him in our lives!

Here are a few things that are new with him:

-He LOVES tractors. He pronounces it "Sactors". This is alse his favorite word/thing and says it a hundred times a day looking everywhere we go for one.

-He knows all of his letters, numbers, colors, and animals. (Amazing!) (Well...not ALL the animals, that WOULD be amazing!)

-He is at the cute stage where when he wants something he will grab my hand and take me to what he wants. I love the feeling of his soft, chubby, warm hand in mine.

-He is a rebel. If I say "diaper" he says "no Diaper" if I say "don't throw your food on the floor!", he throws his food in the floor.

-He loves Scott's Jeep. Whenever Scott gets home he says, "Jip, in?" and Scott will let him sit in his Jeep for a while. When it is time to come inside he will say "Bye bye Jip, la lou" (Bye bye Jeep, Love you)

-He pronounces cookie "tookie"

-When he goes to bed he says "song, mama?" and I will hold him and sing a song. During the song he pats my back.

-He runs. And runs.....and runs....and runs!! The second the door opens to go outside, he is gone! We are pretty sure he has no idea how to walk.

-He loves all things boy. Cars, trucks, Tractors (his favorite), balls, trains,drums, dirt, burps, and all other forms of gas.

-When he is "fake crying" to get something he wants, he will put his arms out with a sad look and say "cryyyy mama! Cryyyy"

We love this little guy so much! I can't even imagine what life was like without him!!

Booga! Push The BUTTON!!!!!

This morning I decided to clean out my car. This is one of Dane's favorite things to "help" me with. I let him sit in the car with me and push all the neat buttons in the car. He is usually most interested in the hazard lights and the interior lights buttons. Not today!!

I gathered all the trash that was in the front seat of the car, I then had to get out of the car to get into the back seat to clean up. And that is when it all happened!! My leg hit the front door and slammed it shut, in that VERY SECOND Dane decided to find the lock button and lock himself in the car. No problem, I'll just go get the keys. Oh WAIT!! The keys are in the car with him!!! OH NO!!!! Are any of the windows down??? NOPE!! (Don't worry, our car was in the garage which is pretty cool, so no heat problem). I haven't started panicking yet, in fact I think it is kind of funny, Mostly because Dane is having such a good time!!

I call Scott, tell him I'm in a pickle. Tell him what the pickle is!! He laughs but there is an edge of nervousness. He says there is a cop that lives by us, or call a locksmith if Dane won't push the button in 15 minutes.

I run inside and find a hanger...I don't know why! I have seen my brothers grab hangers in these situations and have success, but I never paid enough attention to know what they did. Hanger idea, bad idea!

I start yelling through the car window..."Booga!!! Push the button!!!" I have my finger pressed against the window pointing down at the button. He looks at me, understands me, and presses his cute little finger against my finger on the other side of the glass. Pleased with himself for doing what I said, he moved on to more interesting things. He looks around and finds a pack of gum. He unwraps a piece and shows it to me, smiles and says "YUUUMMMM!" Eats it. Unwraps another piece and another and eats them all until he has eaten the whole pack of gum. 15 pieces!

I keep encouraging him to push the button, (my finger is still pressed against the window. I'm trying to show him where the button is!!!). He starts pushing every button he can see. The eject button to the CD player. A cd comes out and he thinks that is pretty cool! All the interior lights. He finds the Ipod...buttons!!! You can tell that he is proud of himself for pushing all the buttons. Just like Mama said!!

I see the keys in the cup holder. "Booga!! Get the KEYS!!" He finds the mail key. Picks it up and shows it to me! Got it Mom!! "Get the other keys!! With the buttons!!" He looks around, he sees no other keys and shows me the mail key again. "Mail?"

This goes on and on! I'm starting to panic a little. I close the garage door to block out some of the heat. ( And to "close" the pickley situation to any neighbors that might be watching!) I continue to yell about the keys and the button...nothing.

I say a little prayer. Dane finds the keys in the cup holder! "BOOGA!!! PUSH THE BUTTON!!" He pushes the most interesting button the key chain. THE RED ONE!! The ugly alarm goes off and scares him a little. He pushes the red button again to turn it off. Now it is a game. On and off, on and off with the alarm for 5 min!! (It was probably only 1 min). "Push the OTHER BUTTON" I am prepared with my hand on the door handle in Superwoman style! HE PUSHES IT!! I open the door and grab him and say "Good Job!!" He laughs and runs away never knowing that he was trapped!

Cheese Man

Anyone who knows Scott knows that he loves cheese!! I mean LOVES cheese!! The other day he went to the Farmers Market and there were some people there selling homemade cheese. That got him thinking...."this is my calling." Right when he got home he sat at the compy until he found what he was looking for, a cheese recipe that he could do RIGHT THEN AND THERE!!! Here is the recipe:
1 qt whole milk
1 cup buttermilk
2 t lemon juice
salt to taste
-Heat milk on low heat to 175 degrees
-Pour in buttermilk and lemon juice
-Remove from heat
-Stir 30 seconds
-Curds should seperate from whey. If not add more lemon juice
-Let stand for 10 min
-Laddle curds into cheesecloth in colander
-Tie off and let hang for 30 min
-Add salt to taste, and whatever else you want!!!
-Refridgerate overnight
-EAT!!! YUM YUM!!!

Zoo Day!

Dane had this crazy cough/fever. Because of his sore throat, he didn't have an appetite and would barely drink anything either. So in an effort to get my son to drink something so he wouldn't be dehydrated, I mixed up some crystal light (some red flavor). He liked it!! Finally something in his tummy! But he was really grumpy and it was about his nap-time. I put him down with his red drink because he wouldn't part with it, and I got in the shower. About 20 min later he was crying and I went in to check on him and this is what he looked like!!! Apparently his cough was so bad that he threw up! While he was on his back in his crib! I was so sad for him, but on the other hand, I had to take a picture! I think it will make him laugh when he is older!!

There is more. I had to take him to the doctor about an hour later and below is what he looked like at the doctors office! That stuff stains! Needless to say the doctor thought it was really funny! I forgot to take a picture of the back of his head!! His hair is pink!! It still is and this happened a week ago!!!

You can see that his tears were the only thing powerful enough to wash it off!! So cute!

Last year we started the 1st annual "Jorgensen Valentine Outing" in Salt Lake. This year we brought it to St. George. This was our beautiful desert! There was also a pot of chocolate fondue to dip it in!

I got the best Christmas gift this year and I haven't quite figured it out yet! It is the SWEETEST camera! Not so happy about being Santa Scott! Our friends Chase and Melissa are activity leaders for their ward. They were in charge of the ward Christmas party. But...they couldn't find anyone to be Santa. Chase asked Scott if he would do it and to EVERYONE'S surprise! HE DID!! I think Scott was more surprised than the rest of us!! Chase took him out to the Lucky Buffet the next day as a thanks! (I thought he looked great!)

Today is our 5 year anniversary! It really has gone by so fast. I love Scott so much! He is the best husband and he really gets better at it all the time!
Reasons I love Scott:
He is probably one of the most talented people I know. Le me just mention all the cool things he does:
1. He is a guitar genius! He can whip out any kind of song! He dosen't just kind of play the guitar, he really is a GREAT muscian!
2. He is a songwriting genius! He has written me several love songs and I love all of them! That is romance! He also writes some pretty awesome non-love songs too.
3. He is an incredible writer! He has started so many books and all of them are interesting and gripping! (espescially the pirate one!)
4. If he wanted to be an athlete he could probably be an olympic athlete! He will do things if I dare him too that amaze me!! Once he did this wicked yoga pose that would kill anyone else!
5. He knows everything....almost. I can ask him any kind of question and he will tell me the answer or give me a pretty believable lie!
6. He refuses to do anything that makes him unhappy! He didn't like the idea of sitting behind a desk for a living, so he learned how to fly helicopters and make a living at it! I love that about him!
7. He is a wonderful father. My children are very lucky!
These are only a few of the reason that I love Scott. He is my best friend and he makes me feel safe by his side! I love you Bear!

About a month ago I was looking on Ellen's website and say that she was going to Vegas. I signed up for tickets and about a week later I got a call from the show!!!

Scott and I went to the show Friday!! It was a lot of fun! We were excited because we thought that our seats were on the 3rd row.....WRONG! They were on the 3rd row of the balcony! But it was okay because we could still see pretty well.

The guests were Bette Midler, Hans Something (a magician from Vegas), and Pink. Our favorite part was Pink!! She was so cool!!

Anyway!! I've always really loved the Ellen Show and I was so excited to see her! She was cool!

Thanks to Grandpa Kirk for coming and hanging out with Dane while we went! He had a blast. And it was really nice to just hang out with my hubby!

Today I went to take Scott some dinner at work and he asked me if I wanted to go on a helicopter ride! I was so excited!! And scared! We only went for 30 minutes but it was awesome! At first I was really scared because they take the doors off the helicopter in the summer (it is still pretty hot down here!) I felt like I was going to fall out! There was nothing to hold on to! I just clasped my hands together and squeezed. It felt like we were going about 30 miles an hour, I asked scott how fast we were really going and he said 100 MPH!! We flew all around St. George and Scott showed me some really big houses and we flew over our house. It was neat to see what he sees every day. I felt so cool with the head set on. Scott is so cool!
My friend Melissa watched Dane for us. It was so cute to see him when we were landing! He was waving and pointing to the sky! I don't know if he understood what was going on, but it was cute anyway!

One year ago (on September 17, 2007 at 11:42pm!) I was blessed to become a mother. Dane Matthew Jorgensen was 9lbs 9oz of sweetness. I never knew how much I would love being a mother. The last 365 days have been the most fulfilling of my life.
50 things I love about Dane.
1. I love that he looks just like his daddy.
2. I love that he is chubby!
3. I love his little grunt. (he has been grunting since the day he was born!)
4. I love is red hair SO MUCH!! I don't think I will ever cut it!
5. I love that he never fit into newborn clothes!
6. I love that he is so sweet.
7. I love his tender heart.
8. He has the cutest cry face! It breaks my heart when he cries, but it also makes me smile!
9. I love that he has slept through the night since he was 2 months old.
10. When he is really excited he will slap you in the face! It kind of hurts!
11.Lately when he has a poopy diaper, he tries to take it off himself. Just get rid of it!
12. I love his sloppy kisses!
13. I loved nursing him. He would always play with my hair, stick his fingers in my mouth, or pull at my eye lashes!
14. When he is concentrating on something it seems like his cubby checks magically get even bigger!
15. I love that he reaches for me when I walk in the room.

16. I love that he loves people. He never cries around new people.
17. I love how he splashes in the bath. I'm soaked afterwards!
18. I love that when he is happy and laughing, his mouth is wide open.

21. I love how he stares at little kids in amazement. I think that he thinks they are weird because they are so small! (not realizing that he is even smaller!)

23. If he hears the refridgerator open, he races in the kitchen so he can stand in the cool breeze.

25. I love that he stands at the window when all the kids are at the bus stop in the morning and just watches them until the bus leaves.
26. every day he pushes Scotts bottle of shaving cream into bath tub. He likes the loud sound that it makes!
27. I love how excited he gets to play with Scott. His favorite is the chasing game.
28. I love his deep belly laugh. He has always sounded like he has already hit puberty.
29. I love that he is so determined. If he sees an obstacle course he has to conquer it! He always does!

I did it! YAY! I am really proud of myself! I worked really hard! I had a goal to not stop and walk. I got pretty close to walking a few times but I never did!! I also had a goal to run the race in 2 1/2 hours, I beat that goal by 5 minutes!

He ran 26.2 miles. I know that he worked really hard. Right at the very end he started sprinting towards the finish line. I was really impressed. He was the one that got me to sign up for the half marathon. He was such an inspiration for me! Good job Matt! You are awesome!

In April Scott was contacted by the producer of a company called Quikstar Productions that does a compilation CD every year called "Chill Out". He heard A song of Scott's and asked him if he would be a part of the CD. Of course Scott agreed! The CD includes various artists, and it is finally finished! We Have Lift OFF!

Scott is officially finished with helicopter school!! And the best part is that we NEVER have to pay for him to fly again! And it gets better!!! Now every time he flies he will be GETTING PAID!!
I am so proud of him! He has really worked his tail off for the last 18 months! At times he has been really stressed out, but I have never seen him so happy! (Except when he is playing with Dane!) I am so happy that he is able to do something that he loves! He always wanted to be a pilot, even when he was a little boy, but he forgot about that dream when his mom told him that pilots had to have perfect eye sight, which was true. The FAA changed that law some time ago and we found out that you can fly with contacts! That was all Scott had to hear! His dream came true with a lot of hard work! I love my pilot!
He starts his first day as a paid HELICOPTER PILOT on Monday!

This last weekend we went camping with my brother Brandon and his family. We camped in the mountains near the north rim of the grand canyon close to a place called Jacob Lake. It was a lot of fun! Dane did awesome for his first camping adventure! In fact,he loved it! We ate a lot of good food and came back smelling really smokey.(I love that smell!) It was so much fun to hang out with family and relax!

Well, it is official! I have signed up to run the Park City Half Marathon on August 23. That gives me twelve weeks to prepare. I know that I can do it! I have a lot of support. My brother-in-law Matt is going to run the FULL marathon that day. His awesome wife Katie and my Pro-Runner sister-in-law Adrienne will hopefully run the half with me! In addition to them, my mom is going to train for the 5k (I know you can do it mom!) and my big brother Brett BETTER train to run either the 5k or the 10k. I'm so happy! This is something I have wanted to do for years! I'm really looking forward to it. The count down starts! Wish me luck!!

This last weekend Kirk and Matt came down to help us move. I found out that Saturday morning there was a 5k. Matt has been running for a while so I asked him if he wanted to run it with me. It was a lot of fun! We ran the whole time. I slowed way down on the hills but I NEVER stopped! Matt was a really fun running partner!

This was Matt's very first 5k! He got first place in his age division! Look at that sweet medal!

How long have you been together? We have been married for 4 1/2 years and we meet 7 years ago.

How long did you date? That is tricky! We dated for 2 months before his mission, wrote during our missions, got engaged 4 weeks after I got home, and got married 3 months later!! What do you think?

Who eats more? Depends! If it is sweet, ME! If it is salty, HIM!

How said "I Love You first"? Oh boy! I can't remember! I think it was him. In Colorado about 3 days after we started hanging out! What can I say! I guess I'm irresistible!

Who is taller? Shoes off, him. Shoes on, me. Girl shoes are always tall! He is 5'9" I am 5'8".

Who is smarter? We both are! But he can kill me at trivia any day!

Who does the laundry? Well, mostly me. He does help, but I really like doing it! It's so warm!

Who does the dishes? We both do. I put them in the dishwasher and he puts them away.

Who pays the bills? Me! I work at the bank, so it is easier for me to get everything done while I am there.

Who mows the lawn? What lawn? If we had a lawn I think we would both do it! It is one of our favorite chores!

Who cooks dinner? We both do in equal amounts. Usually when the weather is nice Scott is outside justa grillin away!

Who proposed? He did! We were on the Logan Temple grounds having a jamba juice. All of a sudden he whipped out his guitar and sang me a love song! Half way through the song he asked me to get his guitar pick from his guitar case. When I did there was a pretty little white box!!! I opened it and....there was a green guitar pick!!! I looked at him with a confused face and he smiled and pulled the ring out of his pocket! He got on one knee and asked me to marry him! He is so romantic!

Cedar City hosts the Utah Summer Games every year. Every year I have wanted to run in one of the races. This is my last summer in Cedar and DARN IT! Im going to do it! There is a 10k on June 13th and a 5k on June 14th. If you run both of them you get a discount on the entry fee. I really want to run both. I'm for sure going to run the 5k. I'm going to train really hard to run the 10k. Scott's brother Matt is going to run them with me. Anyone else can run with us!
I have been running and I am up to 2 1/2 miles! YAY! Thanks for the inspiration Kim, Adrienne and Matt!

Friday the 18th was Scott's Birthday. I suprised him by inviting his brother Matt and his wife Katie and daughter Portia down. We had so much fun with them. I realized later that I didn't get any pictures of Matt and Katie! But we always have so much fun with them! We went to St. George on Saturday and went to some great garage sales! And we played a REALLY long game of phase 10! Anyway! Thanks for coming down you guys!
